UN Global Compact Network Italy and Women 20 are co-organizing an event to promote women’s empowerment in the private sector in Italy.
Enhancing women's potential translates into significant positive impacts on productivity (with an increase of up to 40%) and profits, as well as on communities around the world, especially by acting throughout the supply chains.
In a time in which the impacts of the Covid-19 crisis are disproportionately affecting women it is even more important and urgent to act and involve the private sector.The UN Secretary General, António Guterres, has warned the world that the pandemic could also reverse the limited progress that has been made in recent decades on gender equality.
The event will be the opportunity to present concrete projects that can guide companies in this journey: Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), which offer guidance for companies to respect women's rights and enhance their potential in the workplace, on the market and in communities and the WEPs Gender Gap Analysis Tool, a self-assessment tool for corporate performance.
The event will be held in English and the participation is free.
